Ayutthaya, just 80 kilometers north of Bangkok, used to be the capital of the Kingdom of Siam. It thrived as a bustling trading port from 1350 until its destruction in 1767. Today, Ayutthaya is an archaeological site known as the Ayutthaya Historical Park, where you can explore old palaces, Buddhist temples, and statues. The city is situated on an island surrounded by three rivers, making it a fascinating place to delve into Thailand's rich history and culture.
